If you have access to your Publisher/Journal's partner dashboard - you'll see the following Verification section:

Researchers can use their Web of Science profiles to keep a verified track record of all their research outputs like peer reviews publications and editorial work. For the majority of peer review records added to Web of Science by researchers we are able to verify these records (read more about how here).

However, for a minority of review records added to Web of Science we are unable to independently verify these records. In these cases we do not display these records on researcher profiles, but surface them as "unverified" on the relevant journal/publisher dashboard.

As a journal/publisher with access to your dashboard - you can view how many such requests we've had for your journal(s) and can check these against your peer review records and verify/disavow the records manually if you wish to do so.

Let's look at an example:

When you navigate to your Review Verifictaion page on your dashboard, you will see a list of your journals. Click on one of the journals and you will see a page listing all unverified reviews we have for that journal.

They will be displayed in a table like the below:

^ You can see in this example there are 5 unverified reviews waiting for this journal, from two reviewers (Laura and Tom).

Let's say you check your peer review records (i.e. within your peer review tracking/submission system) for this journal and can verify Laura did in fact do the top review (the one Laura did in 2018 for the paper "Test 3"). You can verifiy her review as follows:

Select "Verified" from the drop down -> this will the update the review status and you'll see a pop-up confirming the review has been verified.

What to do if you can't verify a review?

Disavow

If you can't see one of these reviews in your records, or the reviewer has not provided enough information you can "Disavow" the review - this will send the reviewer a notification that their review was not able to be verified

Archive

If your records are archived (i.e. you can't access them) you can choose to archive unverified review requests -> this will not verify the review but remove it from your queue on this page.
