Your profile card is shown at the top of every profile page and gives an overview of yourself and the content associated with you on Publons. Fields in the profile card include:
Profile photo. This can be added in your profile settings. If you do not wish to add a profile picture we will display your initials.
Name. This can also be changed in your profile settings. You must enter some value in this field. It is used, along with your publishing aliases, to match you to manuscripts imported from Web of Science.
Badges. There are six badges available to be displayed on your profile:
“Web of Science indexed author” indicates that at least one of your publications has been indexed in Web of Science.
“Top peer reviewer” indicates that you have received at least one of Publons Peer Review Awards.
“Excellent reviewer” indicates that at least one of your reviews has been rated Excellent by your editor.
“Publons Academy graduate” indicates that you have graduated from the Publons Academy, our peer review training course.
“Publons Academy mentor” indicates that you have mentored at least one Publons Academy enrollee to graduation.
Primary institution. Your institution affiliations can be edited from your affiliation settings. At present we select your most recent institution affiliation to display in this section but intend to allow easier control in the near future.
Metrics. There are 5 core metrics which are included in your profile card but are only visible if there is related content to summarise. You can read a detailed explanation of these and other metrics here.
“Publications“ shows the number of publications you have added to Publons.
“H-index” is your H-index based on Web of Science Core Collection citations.
“Total times cited” is the total number of citations accrued by your publications in the Web of Science Core Collection.
“Verified reviews” shows the number of verified pre-publication reviews you have performed and added to Publons.
“Handling editor records” shows the number of manuscripts you have handled as editor for which you have added the details to Publons.
