The easiest way to have your previous reviews verified and added to your profile is to forward “receipts” for those reviews from your inbox to email@example.com
Review receipts are emails from an editor on receipt of your review, not invitations to review. Journals often use similar words in the subject line or body of their review receipt, so you’ll often find more than one with the same search term.
Follow our step-by-step guide:
1. Go to your inbox and try one of these common search terms:
“Thank you for reviewing (journal name)”
“Your review for (journal name)”
“Review received (journal name)”
2. Once you’ve found one ‘review receipt’, open the email and see if there’s any text that’s likely to be used in all emails from that journal. For example “Thank you for preparing a review report for…”
3. Copy and paste the text into your search box to look for more review receipts.
4. Forward each message you find to firstname.lastname@example.org and you’re done! We’ll verify your reviews with the journal and add them to your profile.
You can send reviews to email@example.com in any order and it doesn’t have to be done all at once. The process might take you about 10 minutes for 20 reviews, or 30 minutes for 100 reviews. Please note that we also accept non-English language review receipts.
Adding old reviews for partnered journals
In addition to the above you can also add old reviews for partnered journals using the methods described here: How can my past reviews be added to Publons?
Verifying reviews using restored letters
If you'd like to verify a review for which you no longer have a review receipt or evidence for, you may request the editor/journal to provide a review receipt (restored letter), which you can then use to verify your review(s) through firstname.lastname@example.org. You can find more information about verifying reviews using restored letters here.
